At Four Leaves International School Tokyo (FLIST), we believe that early childhood is a time of self-discovery, a stage where children are exploring who they are, what they love, and how they learn best.
Our Specialty Classes are an essential part of the daily curriculum, designed to give every child the chance to experience a wide range of creative, physical, and intellectual activities.
From coding and music to yoga, art, science, nature, and PE, these classes are not optional extras, they are a vital part of how we help children discover their talents and passions in a nurturing, hands-on learning environment.
By offering these experiences within the school day, parents can feel confident that their children are receiving a balanced, well-rounded education without the need for multiple after-school programs.
Four Leaves International School Tokyo（FLIST）では、幼児期は「自己発見の時間」であり、子どもたちが自分はどんな人なのか、何が好きなのか、どのように学ぶのが一番楽しいのかを探求する大切な時期だと考えています。
私たちのスペシャルティクラスは、日々のカリキュラムの中で欠かせない要素として設けられており、子どもたち一人ひとりが創造的・身体的・知的なさまざまな活動を体験できるようにデザインされています。
プログラミングや音楽、ヨガ、アート、サイエンス、自然活動、体育など、これらのクラスは“オプション”ではなく、子どもたちが自分の才能や情熱を発見するための大切な学びの一環です。
こうした体験を日中の授業の中で提供することで、保護者の皆さまにも安心していただけるよう、放課後の習い事に頼らずとも、バランスの取れた充実した教育を受けられる環境を整えています。
Yoga & Mindfulness
Our Yoga Class helps children build balance, flexibility, and body awareness while developing focus and calmness. Through breathing exercises, stretching, and guided relaxation, students learn to understand their bodies and emotions.
Yoga supports both physical coordination and emotional regulation, helping children start each day centered, confident, and ready to learn.
ヨガクラスでは、子どもたちがバランス感覚や柔軟性、そして身体への意識を高めながら、集中力と心の落ち着きを育みます。
呼吸法やストレッチ、リラクゼーションを通して、自分の体や感情を理解する力を身につけていきます。
ヨガは身体の協調性だけでなく、感情のコントロールにも役立ち、子どもたちが毎日を落ち着いた気持ちで、自信をもって学びに向かうサポートをしてくれます。
Coding
Our Coding Class introduces children to the world of logic, sequencing, and creativity through Scratch Jr, a visual programming language designed for young learners.
Children learn how to create stories, animations, and simple games by snapping together colorful code blocks. This hands-on, play-based approach builds problem-solving skills, computational thinking, and confidence in using technology as a creative tool—laying the foundation for digital literacy in a fun and age-appropriate way.
コーディングクラスでは、子どもたちが論理的思考・順序立て・創造力を楽しく学べるよう、幼児向けに設計されたビジュアルプログラミング言語「Scratch Jr」を使っています。
カラフルなコードブロックを組み合わせながら、自分だけのストーリーやアニメーション、簡単なゲームを作り上げていく中で、問題解決力やコンピューテーショナルシンキング（計算的思考力）を育みます。
この“手を動かして遊びながら学ぶ”アプローチを通して、子どもたちはテクノロジーを創造のためのツールとして自信をもって使えるようになり、楽しく・年齢に合った形でデジタルリテラシーの基礎を築いていきます。
Music (Pianica & Rhythm)
Music is a universal language and one of the most joyful ways to learn. In our Music Class, children explore rhythm, melody, and notation through singing, movement, and learning to play the pianica (a child-friendly wind powered keyboard).
Through playful lessons, students develop listening skills, rhythm awareness, and fine motor skills, building not just musical talent, but also concentration and teamwork.
音楽は世界共通の言語であり、最も楽しい学びのひとつです。
FLISTのミュージッククラスでは、歌やリズム遊び、そして子どもに親しみやすい鍵盤楽器「ピアニカ（鍵盤ハーモニカ）」の演奏を通して、リズム・メロディー・音符の読み方を学びます。
遊び心あふれるレッスンの中で、子どもたちは聴く力やリズム感、指先の器用さを育みます。
音楽的な才能だけでなく、集中力やチームワークも自然と身につけていくクラスです。
Nature & Farming
Our Nature Class connects children with the world around them through outdoor exploration and hands-on farming activities.
Students learn how plants grow, how to care for fruits and vegetables, and the importance of sustainability. They go on nature walks, observe seasonal changes, and experience firsthand the beauty of the natural world.
These lessons nurture curiosity, respect for the environment, and a sense of responsibility toward nature.
ネイチャークラスでは、子どもたちが屋外での探検や農作業を通して、身の回りの自然とつながる体験をします。
植物の成長の仕方や果物・野菜の世話の仕方、持続可能性の大切さを学びます。
また、自然散策を通して季節の移り変わりを観察し、自然の美しさを直接感じることができます。
これらの学びを通して、子どもたちの好奇心や環境への敬意、自然に対する責任感を育みます。
Science & Experiments
Our Science Class encourages curiosity through project-based learning and experiments. Children explore questions like “What happens if…” and “Why does this change?” as they engage in fun, hands-on investigations.
From simple chemistry reactions to exploring physics through play, children learn how to observe, predict, and experiment, building early foundations in STEM education and critical thinking.
サイエンスクラスでは、プロジェクト型学習や実験を通して、子どもたちの好奇心を育みます。
「もしこうしたらどうなる？」「なぜこう変化するの？」といった疑問を楽しい体験や実験を通して探求していきます。
簡単な化学反応から遊びを通した物理の学びまで、子どもたちは観察・予測・実験の方法を身につけ、STEM教育や論理的思考の基礎を自然に養っていきます。
Art & Creative Expression
Art at FLIST is about more than painting and drawing, it’s about exploring ideas, experimenting with materials, and expressing individuality.
Children work with a variety of media such as paint, clay, collage, and recycled materials in order to create unique works of art. These creative experiences help develop fine motor skills, imagination, and confidence in self-expression while introducing children to the joy of creative problem-solving.
FLISTのアートクラスは、絵を描いたり色を塗ったりするだけではなく、アイデアを探求し、さまざまな素材で実験し、自分らしさを表現することを大切にしています。
子どもたちは絵の具や粘土、コラージュ、リサイクル素材など、さまざまなメディアを使って、世界にひとつだけの作品を作り上げます。
こうした創造的な体験を通して、手先の器用さや想像力、自分を表現する自信を育むとともに、創造的な問題解決の楽しさも学びます。
Physical Education (PE)
Our PE Class develops children’s gross motor skills, coordination, and love of movement through games, obstacle courses, and teamwork activities.
Children learn the importance of fair play, persistence, and collaboration while gaining confidence in their physical abilities.
PE at FLIST isn’t about competition, it’s about learning to move, cooperate, and have fun in healthy, active ways.
PEクラスでは、ゲームや障害物コース、チーム活動を通して、子どもたちの運動能力・バランス感覚・体を動かす楽しさを育みます。
活動の中で、子どもたちはフェアプレーの大切さ、あきらめずに挑戦する気持ち、協力する力を学び、自分の身体能力に自信を持てるようになります。
FLISTの体育は「競争」ではなく、体を動かすことの楽しさ、仲間と協力すること、そして健康的にアクティブに過ごすことを学ぶ時間です。
