Baby Buds - Ages 1-2

Children in our Baby Buds Program are growing quickly in all areas of their lives. It is in this program that children will take their first steps, speak their first words, and begin to explore their boundless curiosities. Our program encourages children to use their minds, bodies, and senses in a hands-on and experiential approach that helps them to begin to understand the world around them and pushes them to be boundlessly curious. Each day in our Baby Buds program is ripe with exciting experiences and challenges carefully crafted to develop social, physical, and cognitive skills. The Baby Buds Program focuses on:

Baby Buds プログラムの子ども達は新芽の様に生活の様々な面で急速に成長をしていきます。初めての一歩を踏み出し、最初の言葉を発し、好奇心に従って際限なく世界を冒険し始めます。このプログラムでは、頭や体、手足や感覚を使った経験型アプローチで好奇心を広げながら、身の回りの世界を少しずつ理解する手助けをしていきます。毎日が、社会性、身体能力、そして認知能力の発達のために綿密に作られた心躍る経験と課題に満ちています。Baby Buds プログラムでは以下の点にフォーカスを当てています：

Language & Literacy Development
－言語と読解力の発達－

•  Utilize one and two word phrases to express wants and needs, to ask questions, and to identify people and objects

•  Explore early writing skills by line and patter tracing, as well as coloring and scribbling

•  Demonstrate early reading behaviors by turning pages of books and babbling or verbalizing at pictures

•  Build vocabulary for a variety of objects

•   1語、2語文を使って、欲求、要求を伝える。質問をしたり人や物の認識ができる

•   線や模様のなぞり書き、色塗り、落書きなどを通して書く基礎能力を養う

•   ページをめくったり、写真や絵を見ながら言葉を発したり、言語化していくことで本を読む時の姿勢を学ぶ

•   様々なものの名前（単語）を構築していく

Physical Development & Coordination
－身体能力の発達と整合－

•  Develop increased dexterity in their hands required to manipulate objects

•  Begin both walking and running

•  Engage in activities that involve kicking, throwing, rolling, and tumbling

•  Demonstrate some interest in using the toilet, and other self-help skills

•   手や指先を器用に使って物を操ったり動かす能力を高める

•   歩く、走る

•   キック、投げる、転がる、タンブリング（マット運動など）を伴うアクティビティに挑戦する

•   トイレの使い方など自立への興味を促していく

Nature Studies
－自然学習、ふれあい－

•  Play and explore outdoors

•  Water plants and tend a class garden

•  Help to prepare basic ingredients for culinary activities

•   外遊び、散策

•   植物への水やり、庭の手入れ

•   クッキングレッスンで材料の準備などを手伝う

Imagination & Creativity
－想像力と創造性－

•  Create works of art using a variety of materials such as crayons, clay, paint, etc…

•  Utilize simple props during role-plays

•  Listen to music, dance, and further experiment with toy instruments

•  クレヨン、粘土、絵の具など様々な素材を使用して想像力豊かなアートに取り組む

•  ロールプレイで簡単な小道具を使用する

•  音楽を聴いたり、踊ったり、おもちゃの楽器に触れてみる

Cognitive & Executive Development
－認知能力、実行力の発達－

•  Begin to sort and classify objects according to color, size, and shape with teacher assistance

•  Demonstrate interest in counting objects with teacher assistance

•  Explore cause and effect through play and actions

•  Demonstrate interest in identifying and verbalizing letters and letter sounds

•  Make efforts to follow simple rules and control impulses

•  Successfully control impulses some of the time

•  Remember the location of specific objects

•   教師の手助けのもと、形やサイズ、色によって物を仕分ける

•   教師の手助けのもと、物の数を数えてみる

•   アルファベットの認識や音の認識に取り組む

•   簡単な決まり事に従ったり、衝動をコントロールする方法を覚えていく

•   衝動を上手に抑える回数を増やしていく

•   物の位置を覚える

Social & Emotional Development
－社会性、感情の発達－

•  Show an increased interest in interacting with both children and adults

•  Manage emotions both independently and with teacher support

•  Notice when other children are feeling sad and make efforts to cheer them up

•  Initiate play and verbal interactions with other children

•   友達（子ども）、大人、両方との関わりへの興味を伸ばす

•   先生の支援の元、あるいは自ら自立して感情をコントロールする

•   お友達が悲しんでいる時など、自ら変化に気づいて心配したり、慰めたり出来る

•   お友達と一緒にお話をしたり、自ら声をかけて遊ぶなど行動を起こせる
